Very helpful, friendly, clean, comfortable and professional service
The nursing staff are wonderful...no issues there at all.
I did have problems with tying everything together between departments , confusion over just which surgeon I was having, confusion after pre op assessment whether consent form had been signed. Op cancelled twice at last minute .. all leading to quite a stressful time before I did successfully get the operation.

I’ve always known that the NHS and the staff at FGH are absolutely amazing but this last week I honestly can not praise them enough especially A&E and Ward One (Dr Warsi, Sister Gaskell and all the Nurses on ward One, a lovely Doctor Called Caesar) I was admitted to hospital on Saturday morning with tummy pains and it came out that I had quite bad appendicitis. The Nurses, Doctors and Surgeons did all they could to try and prevent me from going to theatre to take them out, but in the end unfortunately I had to go down for the dreaded operation. Not only did they take good care of me they took amazing care of our baby too. They have been so attentive kept me in the loop of what was going on and made sure that everything went as smoothly as possible. The care I received was second to none. Absolutely amazing. I honestly believe if I was not given the care and support I received I would have lost my baby, and to them I will forever be eternally great full.
Amazing hospital and amazing staff.
Thank you.
Miss Patel was very reassuring and put me at ease. She answer any / all questions very simply. Her reassuring manner the morning of the operation was so commendable .I would say this is one FGH best doctors I have ever spoken too .A massive thank you from me.
Nursing staff, technicians, reception staff etc 100% - medical staff (who I saw) less so
Wider use of medical notes across all disciplines ie. I am under regular treatment and surveillance by Urology and Haemotology, Bothe areas should be aware of what the other is doing.
Every effort was made to make me comfortable, staff on both ICU and PPU could not do enough for my husband and no matter how many times I phoned per day they were very helpful, friendly and pleasant and if my husband was awake they let me speak with him.

I recently had an operation at Furness general hospital (April 13th) My surgeon was DR Ogah, who was amazing, and explained everything in detail in an extremely kind manner (he is extremely knowledgable and personable.).... I was extremely anxious as I had never had surgery before but I was put at ease by all the staff, including the anaesthetist DR Paige... and his wonderful sense of humour.....
The nurses on the day care ward were all amazing as I spent several days there, following my procedure.... they all made me feel comfortable and welcome, they listened and were all extremely helpful.... they all strive to give the best care possible to each of their patients....
I truly cannot thank Furness general hospital enough for the professional care that I received.
I was thoroughly impressed with the treatment, care and attention I received at Furness General. The staff were very professional - sometimes in difficult circumstances - and treated me with respect and consideration at all times. I am very thankful for the expertise and commitment of everyone that had a hand in my care.
